What field hockey asks from apparel
A closer look at the positions, movements and repeated demands that shape what field hockey apparel needs to do.
Training sessions. Matches. Indoor season. Outdoor season. Players, parents, coaches, clubs. Rybel did not begin with the idea of creating another sportswear brand. It grew from years spent around field hockey, watching how deeply the game becomes part of the lives of the people around it. The longer we stayed close to the sport, the harder it became to see it as just another category.
Field hockey has its own rhythm, culture and level of commitment. The longer we stayed around the game, the more one question kept coming back — What would a field hockey brand look like if it took the sport as seriously as the people who play it? That question became Rybel.
Rybel is being built with a simple belief: a brand has to earn its place in the sport it wants to be part of. That means staying close to the game, paying attention to the people around it and growing with enough patience to matter for the right reasons. We do not want to stand outside hockey and talk at it. We want Rybel to grow from within the game.
Rybel is only getting started. We want to build a brand that matters in field hockey, stays close to the people who shape the game and earns its place over time. Not by trying to be everywhere. By giving this sport the attention it deserves.
[ OUR MISSION ]
“I’ve spent years around field hockey, at training, at matches and simply being around the game. Somewhere along the way, I really fell in love with the sport and the world around it. Rybel came from wanting to build something of my own within that world.

Performance Hockeywear™ is Rybel’s field-hockey-first standard: apparel designed to move better, last longer and be built with intent.
A founder’s note on how years close to field hockey revealed a gap between the demands of the sport and the apparel built around it.
